Custom magnetics for the world's most demanding environments

From yachts and cargo ships to underwater sensors and Navy vessels, Pacific Transformer has been engineering custom magnetics for salt-water environments since 1981. We build isolation transformers, switching power supplies, ferrite transformers, and high-frequency inductors for every corner of the marine industry.

Expert Partner

Born on the Water

In 1981, Pacific Transformer built its first transformer — a marine battery charger for Newport Marine Engineering (Newmar). That customer still buys that same part today. From there, we helped develop the first switching marine battery chargers using ferrite transformers and high-frequency inductors. Over four decades later, our transformers are found on Navy vessels, containerized shipping systems, underwater sensors monitoring sea traffic and tsunami threats, and mega yachts docking in ports around the world.

Marine Transformer FAQs

We build isolation transformers, step-up and step-down transformers, autotransformers, ferrite switching transformers, high-frequency inductors, and complete power supplies for marine applications. Whether it is a battery charger, shore power converter, or instrumentation power supply, we can design and build to your specifications.
Yes. Marine environments are where we started. We engineer our transformers with materials, insulation systems, and enclosures selected specifically for salt-air exposure, humidity, vibration, and the corrosive conditions found in shipboard and underwater applications.
Yes. The US Navy has been using our military-grade transformers in a wide variety of applications for over 25 years. We hold MIL-T-27 certifications (Class 4, 5, and 6) and are an ITAR registrant, qualified to handle defense-related programs.
Yes. We have extensive experience building power regulation and isolation transformers for mega yachts and commercial vessels that need to dock at shore power systems worldwide. Our engineers can design to accommodate varying voltage standards across international ports.
Yes. Our products are installed on thousands of underwater sensors around the world, monitoring sea traffic, ocean currents, weather patterns, and tsunami threats. We design compact, highly reliable transformers and inductors for these demanding instrumentation applications.
No. We work with customers from single prototype builds to production runs of 10,000 or more units. Whether you are developing a new marine product or need ongoing production supply, we can support you at any volume.
We are a UL, CSA, and ETL recognized manufacturer with MIL-T-27 certification (Class 4, 5, and 6), ITAR registration, and ISO 9001 quality management. For marine OEMs building vessels or equipment for domestic and international markets, we can certify to meet your compliance requirements.
